I love recipes that feel homemade but don't require a sink full of dishes. These Air Fryer Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs have become one of my favorite weeknight meals because they're quick, flavorful, and come out perfectly juicy every time. 

 

Chicken Marinade 

  • 1½ lbs. boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 6 thighs)
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (2 tsps.) 
  • 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice (optional, but recommended)

Next Steps

  1. Combine all marinade ingredients with the chicken.
  2. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes (up to 8 hours in the refrigerator).

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger (or ½ tsp ground ginger)
  • 1 tbsp. garlic paste or 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup chicken broth

Make the Sauce

  1. Combine all sauce ingredients in a small saucepan.
  2. Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Reserve half for glazing and half for serving.

Air Fryer Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 385°F (193°C).
  2. Place chicken thighs (skin down) in a single layer.
  3. Cook for 15 minutes.
  4. Flip and brush with honey garlic sauce.
  5. Cook another 10 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Brush with additional sauce and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Cooking Tips

  • For extra caramelization, increase the temperature to 400°F for the last 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley, green onions, or sesame seeds.
  • Serve with rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh garden salad.
